MEET THE MEYADO TEAM
We’re driven, determined and passionate about helping you create a life you love.
Group Chief Operating Officer
Brent Oddson
Brent is the Chief Operating Officer of all the Meyado businesses globally, which duties include strategy, overseeing day to day operations, watering the plants and buying people coffee. When Brent is not doing any of that, you can find him with his kids, on the golf course, or if he’s really lucky, on a sailboat. He’s an American, though we don’t hold that against him, and has lived in Singapore almost longer than he lived in America. We’re not sure if this makes him brilliant or confused.
You’re more than free to contact Brent, but his wife assures us he’ll probably just tell you a long and boring anecdote that’s only quasi-related to what you wanted to discuss in the first place.
Head of Wealth Advisory
Ryan Cotterell-Walsh
A down to earth, friendly, and reliable Advisor, Ryan is the company’s key man for product and technical knowledge—although so modestly self-effacing that you would only ever hear about it from someone else.
He initially studied to become a lawyer but after completing his law degree realised that he didn’t want to spend his life being miserable, and therefore joined the financial services industry in 2013 where he has been very happy ever since. Along the way he was able to satisfy his love of football, working within Liverpool FC’s academy and soccer school’s programme in Indonesia for 18 months. It was there that Ryan met his wife, Jessica, and learnt Bahasa Indonesia which he speaks with an impressively strong Northern English accent.
He has lived in Singapore for over 3 years, a period which has been marked by the ongoing struggle between his desire to be fit and active, and his love of food (and Guinness). He is actively involved in 11-a-side football, enjoys playing golf and started boxing towards the end of 2019—although the latter is yet to have the intended effect on his waistline.
As a proud family man, Ryan’s ideal week would be catching a stand-up comedy show with his mother, playing darts and with his father, making a roast dinner with his step-father, wall-climbing with his niece, and walking through the countryside (ideally the Lake District) with his wife.
Committed to continuous professional development, Ryan is currently studying for his UK CII level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning and aspires to be one of the youngest Chartered Financial Planners in the region.
Head of Operations
Robin Davies
Robin joined the Meyado Group in 2019 from a background in a wide variety of roles and industries, the most challenging of which (even more so than his National Service!) was definitely selling books door-to-door in America. At Meyado, Robin’s role is overseeing the Client Service team, ensuring all back-office functions run smoothly, and generally trying to ensure that everyone is happy and getting along with each other. The key part of this seems to be ensuring that the coffee machine does not run out of beans.
He is somewhat infamous for bizarre culinary experiments, including his annual Turducken party for friends and family; and takes a keen interest in reading, global politics, fiendishly complicated board games, and podcasts like Freakonomics and Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History. He also collects walking sticks, and factoids—the more useless the better.
Client Service Manager
Era Adaweyah
Era has been in the Financial Industry since 2011, in various projects including pension consulting and employee benefits programs. Prior to joining Meyado, Era was in a similar role at Aon Wealth Management where she was responsible for operations and client support.
Era enjoys cooking and baking and given the opportunity will definitely feed you up with her yummylicious food.
Senior Financial Consultant
Richard Hardy
Richard hails from Leicestershire in the UK and is most passionate about helping people and building lasting relationships. Rich is an experienced Financial Consultant/Wealth Manager with a career spanning nearly 20 years. He has been in Singapore for nearly 14 years helping a wide variety of individuals and families with their financial affairs.
When not helping clients or travelling, you can find Richard on his bike, cooking for his family whilst listening to melodic house music, playing football badly, and drinking the occasional beer or 3.
Client Service Manager
Louisa Leong
Louisa joined Meyado in January 2020 as CSM. She has more than 15 years of senior administrative experience working in the legal, banking and financial investment profession, including positions with a number of major international groups. Louisa remains keen to develop her client relationship role which embraces Meyado’s core values, and looking at opportunities to constantly improve relationships with new and existing clients.
Louisa has a fondness for all things to do with beauty and fashion. She devotes her free time to her family.
Senior Financial Consultant
Jean-Philippe Lionnet
JP is the Frenchman of the group. He Holds his bastion across the French Channel, though he does not mind having to swallow his “London Pride.”
Originally from St-Etienne, France, JP loves travelling. He lived in Nancy, Luxembourg, London, HK and Singapore. Despite his love for travel, he finally settled in Singapore since 2007 ( and probably for a few more years thanks to Covid)
With an Msc in his pocket, he shifted from economics to derivatives and finally to wealth Management profession in 2010 with the world renown Meyado.
The motto: “Pride, Profits and fun” attracted him in the first place. He then moved to the private banking sector (and dropped the fun factor) to finally return to the financial advisory profession to regain his (financial?) freedom in 2019.
In addition to his many years of financial markets experience, JP is well versed in French tax law, which can lead to extremely boring discussions.
JP is married to a Singaporean lady, a music teacher, and has a 5-year-old son, whose name can be easily pronounced in French and Singlish.
Client Service Manager
Shirlynn Ng
Shirlynn works as a Client Service Manager, assisting Ryan Cotterell-Walsh with administration and client servicing, when she is not busy making sure he behaves himself.
Shirlynn previously worked in an independent financial advisory business for 4 years, making time outside of her work to study for and obtain a Business Management Degree from Royal Holloway, University of London. Shirlynn prides herself on building client relationships and strong work ethics.
Outside of work, Shirlynn values an ever-increasing knowledge of the world which she feeds through her love of travelling, music and particularly, her stomach.
Business Development Analyst
Shannon Siow
Every company has at least one geek, and Shannon is ours. His education background in Financial Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics makes him highly analytical and geeky.
He is known to be the jack of all trade and master of some….
His favourite game is “Connect Four”, and till today, he is considered to be undefeated. Currently, he is looking for a worthy foe to satisfy his gaming addiction. If you manage to beat him, he’ll reveal his secret stash of milo hidden somewhere in the office and a storage locker accessible to anyone who has the code.
Other than playing games, Shannon used to teach math Olympiad all-around South-East Asia and create Math Olympiad questions for several math contests. He continues to maintain and provide free math Olympiad questions for all students during his free time. However, his love for the challenging and fast-paced environment has led him to change career into the financial industry.
During his time in Meyado, he dedicates his time analyzing data, business processes, operations and strategies to identify new opportunities for Meyado. He also has his nose in all departments; improving workflow, identifying cost reductions and providing gap analysis to increase revenue and strengthen business relations.
During his free time, he debates the effectiveness and feasibility of any architectural or engineering designs.
Client Service Advisor
Gabriel Tan
Although Gabriel has spent his whole career in the finance world he is always eager to expand his horizons and learn more. At Meyado, Gabriel looks after the Client Service Department working closely alongside Era.
Outside office hours you will likely catch him in the gym whipping himself and others into shape. He lives to eat and engages in all sorts of video games, so being active is the only way he can enjoy food to his heart's content, without the acquisition of the less favoured type of "gains".
